    May 3, 2022 – Hobart

    Charlton Brown is extremely proud to announce a new partnership with UTAS to deliver a new facility, NIET Group Sandy Bay Centre, the latest component in our 5-year growth strategy. The new facility is nestled amongst the century-old gumtrees in the hills of Sandy Bay in Hobart, occupying two entire floors of the historic Hytten Hall. Once the centrepiece accomodation facility for the university’s award-winning teaching programme, the renovated facility now provides Charlton Brown with more than 10 spacious training delivery rooms, student breakout areas, computer lab, and theatre.

    The campus launches with our Hospitality, Tourism, Business, Leadership, Post-Graduate programmes, with the aim to add more than 20 brand-new qualifications over the coming months.

    The outstanding new campus will form the third campus for our new-for-2022 UniTrack programmes – cutting edge custom diploma and degree packaged programmes set to ignite a new wave of training innovation and graduate development, filling workforce shortages with some of the world’s best, most skilled and suitable graduates.

    NIET Group acquires space at Ruby Hotel in Southport to provide Charlton Brown Cookery Students a new Practical Training option.

    Opportunity for all Gold Coast Commercial Cookery Students. Practical training is now available at the Ruby Hotel in Surfers Paradise. This venue will allow students to run and operate the hotel experience, end to end. From bar work, to cookery, to housekeeping, to front of house operations.

    The Ruby Hotel Gold Coast is a 4-star resort equipped with a new kitchen and will provide students with the hands on skills they need to thrive in the hospitality industry and experience commercial cooking in a new light.

    Additionally, this will be the fourth location of the NIET Group’s Contemporary Café chain Okey Dokey. CEO Troy Yue has remarked this is a new era for NIET as we continue to expand.

    Announcement for all Charlton Brown commercial cookery students. Practical training is now available at Four Points by Sheraton Brisbane. This training in a world class commercial kitchen will give you the experience needed to grow and adapt in a fast-paced hospitality industry and understand real world commercial cookery.

    Located in the heart of Brisbane CBD, Four Points is a 4-star hotel equipped with a full commercial kitchen and several fine dining restaurants.

    Head of Hospitality and Cookery, Fiona Fan said this new training partnership will provide students with valuable industry experience.

    Charlton Brown is Cooking Up a Storm.

    July 16, 2021 – Gold Coast

    Charlton Brown is proud to announce the addition of cookery and hospitality to our Gold Coast campus.

    With enrolments commencing in August 2021, at our new Gold Coast campus we are excited to add our brand-new, hand-built Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, and Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery, with a further pathway into our Diploma of Hospitality Management.

    Courses will be structured with theory on Monday, and practical on Wednesday, with enrolments starting on 16 August 2021. Further, our group has invested in a brand new facility nearby as a new venue for our acclaimed ‘Okey Dokey Cafe’, to provide a hospitality-relevant study and practical hub, with constant access to facilities and live cookery operations.

    Students will have access to extensive industry partnerships, including guaranteed hotel-based practical and also including the opportunity to undertake practical training at the award-winning RSL facility.

    This new expansion for Charlton Brown in the Gold Coast is a core addition to the growth of NIET Group in the education space, an helps us meet the significant demand for quality, affordable cookery and hospitality packages for students in the Gold Coast. We can’t wait to show our students the new facilities.

    The Certificate III in Commercial Cookery prepares students for working in a fast-paced kitchen, starting with all the fundamentals of being a cook, from knife skills to the preparation of core components and dishes. There Cert IV brings kitchen management skills to this mix, and the Diploma of Hospitality takes this even further to build the foundations required to run a kitchen. Plus, we’re proud to announce the support of our university partners including Griffith University , Southern Cross University, USQ and the University of Tasmania in providing packaging and articulation arrangements for our students – helping them cut up to a full year off a Bachelor Degree. Enrolments are open now, and we encourage students to apply as soon as possible as spaces are limited.
